Nigel Grinsteed
2003 Ford Mustang Cobra 10th Anniversary Edition

Nigel and Sandy during our 2005 Spring Cruise to Niagara"I walked into my local dealership in Waterloo, Ontario, and there was my dream!  In the showroom was a silver, 10th Anniversary SVT Cobra! I was in awe over the supercharged, 4.6L DOHC V8 and red interior accents.

I soon realized, this is everything I’ve ever wanted in a car my whole life, and now, old enough to appreciate it! My significant other, bless her heart, felt the same way I did about the car. Now that doesn’t happen everyday.

I became a member of the SVTOA Toronto Chapter in March 2005 and have participated in some events. Since I was 5 years old, all I ever wanted to be was a race car driver.  On a warm, sunny, perfect August weekend at Shannonville Motorsports Park, I lived my dream. I participated in the Performance Driving Clinic put on by the SVTOA Canadian Region. I attended ground school (amazingly informative), had a private in car instructor (Wayne Manor), and lots of track time, where it became obvious I was very much at ease behind the wheel. Wayne’s comment: “You’re a natural”. This experience was everything I thought it would be and more. My heartfelt thanks to Ford, the SVT program and especially to the SVTOA Toronto Chapter for this opportunity.

I never tire of the whine of the supercharger, rumbling of the exhaust, the feeling of the road through the steering wheel, the blinding acceleration, and shifting gears with the slick, 6-speed transmission.

I rarely get to drive my SVT Cobra as it sits covered in the garage most of the time. So every time I’m behind the wheel it's like the first time."
