Annual Family BBQ
July 26, 2008
Our annual family barbeque is a summertime club tradition. It's a chance for our members to converge at one point in the Greater Toronto Area, enjoy some good old fashioned burgers and hot dogs, and relax and enjoy summer with their fellow fast friends. This year, we all headed down to Saddington Park in Port Credit, Ontario.
Oddly enough, our barbeques seem to bring another summer tradition: thunderstorms. This year was no exception, Even with the dark skies above, the ingenuity of our members shone through. There's nothing our EZ-Up club tent and tarp couldn't fix.
Despite the on-again, off-again showers and thunderstorms, everyone had a great time. Snacks held our members at bay while our chefs were grilling up the meats. There was enough burgers and hot dogs to heartily feed our members. As the day went on, the dark skies rolled over us towards Toronto and out into Lake Ontario. That left us with a great, sunny sky for the remainder of the barbeque. We even had some of our fast, furry friends come along to celebrate the turn of weather.
Thanks to all our members who came out for the event. We thank Andy Scultety for arranging our venue this year, as well as all our chefs in our chapter. We hope everyone had fun, and we will see you next year (even with raingear).
