2008 Christmas Party
November 15, 2008
No matter your religious or cultural background, the winter months are filled with many different holidays that celebrate the joy, kindness and love between family and friends throughout the year. Our Christmas Party brings together our members, their families, and close friends to celebrate another octane-filled, exciting year.
This year, we returned to the Knights of Columbus Hall in Oakville. Once our members travelled through the torrential downpour to our festivities, they dried off and got a chance to relax, and unwind after a fast-paced year. As everyone caught up with each other, you could already hear the chatter of winter performance mods echoing off the walls.
A fully catered meal awaited our members, thanks to the folks at Culinary Motion - SVTOA-Toronto's exclusive caterer. If the name seems familiar, it should be! They are our exclusive caterers for our SVTOA Redline Rendezvous, and they were also at this year's Annual Show & Shine. Our members couldn't stop with the helpings of salad, potatoes, homemade stuffing, grilled vegetables, deep-fried turkeys and dessert. In the background, our members were treated to our annual slideshow covering the year's events put together by our Membership Recruitment Officer, Richard Lee. After the slideshow, members also got some feature flicks from CanadianCarGuys.ca.
Before heading off to the North Pole, Santa Claus dropped off over $1,000 in gifts and prizes for everyone. One by one, all our party goers got a chance to reach under or in our Christmas tree and pull out a mystery gift. From microfibre cloths to collector books to T-shirts and massage/spa getaways, everyone walked away with something in hand. Amidst the gift-giving, Elvis made an appearance and gave a free concert! Ending off the evening were two charity auctions benefitting charities dear to our members' hearts.
Thank you all for coming out to our annual Christmas Party and supporting our club. We would not be where we are today without all your support througout the year.
Drive safe, and have fun! Merry Christmas! Happy holidays.
Have a safe and happy new year. See you in 2009!
